Features in iVEST™ Client 4.1R 5.1. iVEST™ Gate 5.1.1. iVEST™ Gate is an application software used to configure your computer so that the components of iVEST™ Client 4.1R can communicate with the Smart Card through the Smart Card Reader. 5.2. iVEST™ Gate Admin 5.2.1. Using iVEST™ Gate Admin, you can change your PIN, change your smart card reader setting,and view your certificate as well. 5.3. iProxy 5.3.1. iProxy is the local secure proxy on the client side which authenticates client and server sides via a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection. iProxy is a local proxy. When you try to connect to secure web sites (normally via https at the URL), the request will be routed to this proxy. iProxy will present the Authentication certificate to the server during log-on process. iProxy initiates all SSL handshake with web server. 5.4. iSign 5.4.1. A web browser plug-in. 5.4.2. Complies with S/MIME 2.0 standard. 5.4.3. Able to generate digital signatures in PKCS#7 singlepart or multipart signing format. In singlepart signing, the data to be signed (message) plus signed data are sent in a package to the server. In multipart signing, only the signed data is sent as a package to the server. 5.4.4. Supports Server Side Signing. 5.4.6. Supports both Internet Explorer (version 5.0 and higher) and Netscape browser (version 6.0 and higher) 5.4.7 When perform signing, iSign component does not support the symbol “ , ‘ , < , +. The recommended solution is detailed in the User Guide. Please refer to the User Guide. 5.5. iVEST™ CSP 5.5.1. Supports digital signature & verification of email in Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook. 5.5.2. Supports encryption & decryption of email in Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook. 5.5.3 Supports Outlook Express 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0 and Microsoft Outlook 2000 and 2002/XP in older versions of iVEST™ Client,but not tested in this version. 5.6. iVEST™ PKCS#11 5.6.1. Supports digital signature & verification of email in Netscape Messenger application. 5.6.2. Supports encryption & decryption of email in Netscape Messenger application. 5.6.3 Supports Netscape Messenger (version 4.5x, 4.6x, 4.7x and 4.8x) in older versions of iVEST™ Client, but not tested in this version. --------------------------------------------------------- 6.0. Known problems in iVEST™ Client 4.1R Below are the known problems that will be fixed and implemented in next release. 6.1 Click 2 times on iSign icon when want to perform signing for IE. 6.2 When accessing web site with multiple frames, with Cache PIN, being disabled, will cause multiple PIN pop up. 6.3 iVEST™ Client 4.1 does not support Windows Vista Standard User account type. It will only support account type with Administrator privileges. iVEST™ Client 4.1R will automatically turn off User Account Control. More info on User Account Control : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/features/details/useraccountcontrol.mspx Important: Whenever 'Check your User Account Control settings' message box pops up, please do not click to fix the problem as this will turn on the User Account Control, which will disrupt the functioning of iVEST™ Client 4.1R. 6.4 iGate is not running When the user encounters the error message ‘iGate is not running’, exit and restart iGate program. 6.5 iProxy program hang When the user encounters the problem of iProxy program hanging, exit and restart iProxy program. 6.6 View certificate – iGate component In Non-Repudiation/Authentication certificates viewing dialogue window, which is under iGate component, it will not show the certificate details if user overlaps the dialogue window with other Window Browsers or folders. Solution is that user needs to click on 'General' tab, click back on 'Detail' tab, then only all the information will be displayed back as normal. 6.7 Tab function for External Proxy is not working 6.8 iVEST™ Gate will keep reading more than 10 mins and reader(EZ100PU) remains in red light continuous. This is intermittent. 6.9 iProxy need to be enabled and running to ensure that user will not having problem using iVEST Client since the iVEST CSP is not working. 6.10 Restart iGate again when the iGate is dim after unplugged the reader and then plug it again to the machine. Please refer to User Guide for further information and workaround solutions. --------------------------------------------------------- 7.0. Problem Reporting Procedure 7.1. User will log all defects that they have found to support@ivest.com.my, specifying bugs’ description. 7.2. Reported bugs will be logged 7.3.
