MyKad will replace the traditional paper based laminated document to
provide extra security and access future to future e-government application.

Driving License.
Any Malaysian will only need to have their MyKad instead of a separate driving license as
their identification document therefore reducing resource wastage and speedier
processing of traffic related problem.

Passport Information.
MyKad doesn't replace passport for travelling oversea. However, it can help to increase efficency
at immigration check-points for exit and re-entry of Malaysian.

Medical information.
Medical history will be stored in the chip of the smart card allowing for immediate and more
accurate diagnosis of diseases.

E-cash.
MyKad helps to facilitate small transactions at retail outlets allowing for better control of cash.
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

Using a digital certificate, MyKad users could perform secure transaction and communications
through the internet. Integrity and the authenticity of the information is preserved and protected
from anyone but the rightful owner of the MyKad.
